Biography

Akram Afif is widely regarded as the finest Qatari footballer of his generation. The two-time AFC Player of the Year is the creative heartbeat of both Al Sadd and the national team, famous for his dribbling in tight spaces, his eye for a defence-splitting pass and his composure from the penalty spot. Afif starred in Qatar's back-to-back AFC Asian Cup triumphs in 2019 and 2023, finishing the 2023 tournament as top scorer and player of the tournament. At club level he has collected multiple Qatar Stars League titles with Al Sadd and remains the player opponents build their entire game plan around.
